Jon Stewart will join the Women in the World summit for the first time as moderator of a topical discussion about the role of women in the aftermath of the Arab Spring on Friday morning April 4th at Lincoln Center. The executive producer and host of Comedy Central’sThe Daily Show with Jon Stewart will bring his analytical intelligence and fascination with foreign affairs to the stage of Lincoln Center’s Koch Theater on Friday, April 4. The Women in the World panel “World on Fire” will focus on what happens after the Arab Spring revolutions end and the cameras leave. The discussion will feature firebrand women from across the Middle East as well as Oscar-nominated director of The Square, Jehane Noujaim.
“Jon consistently shines a light on strong female voices from all over the world on his show and we thought what great insights he would add to the program,” said Tina Brown, founder of the Women in the World summit. Jon Stewart is considered one of America’s top social and comedic voices, with surveys showing an overwhelming majority of those under 35 list The Daily Show as their primary source of TV news. Since Stewart began as host and executive producer of The Daily Show, the program has won numerous awards, including 19 Emmys and a Peabody.
